The room was spacious, seemingly clean, but nothing impressive at all for the cost. I had every intention of filling the tub with cool water and taking a bath just to cool off but there was, to my surprise, no tub in the small bathroom of a $200+ hotel room. I was dragging my luggage and completely drenched in sweat when I finally found it and too exhausted to argue about all the nonsense fees. It was nigh 100° when I went and I had to walk around the building, which is massive because it is connected to the convention center, and the entrance was not readily apparent. It felt like a total and complete grift and scam especially since there is, of course, a cancellation policy, in which your money would not be refunded. There is also a an “incidental” fee from the hotel of $100 per night which is also not mentioned when you book the room. Parking in the immediate vicinity is for two nights was approximately $100. That is a prepared statement, so it was a willful omission on the booking end. I was told “there is no parking facility associated with this building“. What they do not tell you when you book your room is that there is no parking! It is located in downtown Philadelphia and there is no parking! When I got there I drove around the building in high traffic looking for the parking garage and finally called the front desk to ask. This hotel is very basic despite the photos, description and location. Overall, a very good stay and we will definitely book again next time we go to Philadelphia. There was more than enough other stuff to do, but don't come expecting much in terms of swimming. Biggest Con: The swimming pool was closed the first night of our stay for some sort of electrical problem, and was very cold and disappointing when my husband and son used it. The room did not have a bathtub, only a stall shower. The coffee and hot water in the lobby was always cold (but they did have coffee accessories and the front desk gave me more pods for my Keurig). Cons: Lobby is a little run-down and could use new seats (very worn cushions!) Breakfast was hit or miss for us, though there were always waffles, one day there was no bread, bagels or butter, and they ran out of hot food saying the truck had not come in. We didn't use our car at all during our 3-night stay. Hotel is just around the corner from all the tour buses and not a long walk from much of the downtown. Biggest Pro: Location, location, location! We ate one meal every day in Reading Terminal Market, which was literally right across the street from the front door (one way street, easy to cross!) We'd get our food from any of those amazing options, then bring it back and enjoy it at the lobby tables and it was great. I liked the in-room mini Keurig and the microwave, dishwasher and fridge were all clean and functional. Beds were comfortable and climate control worked well. The room (2 queen bed pet room) was clean and in excellent shape, something I had worried a little bit about after seeing other reviews. Pros: Staff was flexible and pleasant with us, let us check in an hour early because our room was already ready.
